Music of the Fight - The Beat Drives You In
Master Ronnie Speaks
"In old Muay Thai of Nai Khanom Tom days in Ayutthaya, the competitions were part of the day out - the local farm fair, or a travelling caravan. Fighters would travel for hours with buses, vans, and fans behind them."
"Many Westerners found the music strange and funny. But as you find the culture and mythology, these fighters many years ago did not have a modern stadium. The Thai musical band - THE BEAT DRIVES YOU IN."
"The musicians can encourage fighters to show more pace or more skill. It is a SYMPHONY - not to be ridiculed. Music is also healing. Its rhythm and dance."
"BOW BOW! Calm down. WHAT IS YOUR RUSH! Great moves take time to handle. Time to find how to APPLY YOUR MOVES. That is Physical. That is Natural Rhythm. Your Body in Unity and Motion."
"Body Mechanics! You have to orchestrate and move like a DANCER!"
The Ancient Fight Day

Before the great stadiums of Bangkok - before Lumpinee and Ratchadamnern - Muay Thai lived in the villages. Fighters from different provinces would travel by ox cart, their families and fans following behind. The competition was part of the fair, the celebration, the community gathering. Not violence for violence - but art, skill, and honour displayed before the people.
